Granite countertops

It is a very common choice for countertops and can withstand stains and is durable and solid. Granite can stand heat generated from cooking and doesn’t get stained by water. It can be subjected to wear and tear and is crack and scratch resistant. Granite is a natural stone and comes in a wide variety of colors, but doesn’t offer the number of colors that quartz does.

Quartz countertops

Quartz has all of the qualities of granite but it is not natural; it is made of a combination of 93% crushed quartz and the remainder is a resin that binds it and colors that bring it to life. It is not porous and doesn’t require maintenance. Quartz is marginally more expensive than granite but cheaper than marble.

Marble countertops

Marble is more expensive than granite and quartz but not as durable or structurally sound as either one of them. Marble is porous and cannot stand acid and strong chemical cleaners. Liquids like wine can stain marble but you can protect marble by using a sealant to coat it with. You can choose marble if you want a countertop that is unique and has veining that looks special. Remember that marble will usually darken over time.
